Regulations for lithium cells and batteries

Lithium metal batteries containing more than 2g of lithium, and lithium ion batteries with an energy of more than 160 Wh, contained in the device or spare, are prohibited in aircraft.

Portable electronic devices < 100 wh

Devices containing lithium-metal batteries (not exceeding 2 g of lithium) or lithium-ion batteries (not exceeding 100 Wh) carried for personal use: watches, camcorders, cameras, cell phones, laptops, tablets, drones...

Devices in checked luggage must be completely switched off and protected against damage.

Portable electronic devices between 100 wh and 160 wh

Portable electronic devices containing lithium-ion batteries (greater than 100 Wh, but not exceeding 160 Wh such as power tools, video cameras, laptops, drones...).

  • Prior approval: no
